Thanks to Dr. Lechner for her comments on promoting well-being in your children. Another help is to ask each child at the dinner table or at bedtime "What is the best thing that happened to you today? and What is the worst thing that happened to you today?" If a parent starts this practice when the child is young though the format may change through the yrs. the lines of communication hopefully will stay open as the child reaches adolescence and beyond. And you really find out what is going on in your child's life.
